Ryan erasmus

Head Coach: Ryan Erasmus

  

Ryan is the Owner and Founder of Hoboken Barbell and has been an Active Weightlifter for over 30 years. Ryan Represented his Native South Africa at World Championships, Commonwealth Games , African Games, and African Championships winning several International Medals for his Country.


More recently Ryan has embraced his status as a Master Lifter by Winning Multiple World Masters Championships, as well as being a Multiple Time American Masters Champion and Record Holder.


Ryan remains active as both a Coach and Competitor, and will more often than not be seen throwing down with the team at the Club.


Ryan has a Bachelors Degree in Human Movement Science, Sport Science and Kinesiology.


Ryan is a USAW Level 2: Advanced Performance Coach and is available for private Coaching and Programming.

JULIA SPINNENWEBER

Julia Spinnenweber

Julia is a USAW Level 1 Coach who began lifting a few years ago, starting as a CrossFitter and quickly shifting over to focus on Oly lifting once she was introduced to Hoboken Barbell. Julia is passionate about helping beginner lifters master the fundamentals to gain confidence, improve strength and learn more about the world of Olympic Weightlifting.

NASER TIZHOOSH

Coach Naser is a USA Weightlifting and CrossFit Level 1 Coach. He has won multiple Weightlifting events over the years, and actively competes in both Weightlifting and Powerlifting. Nas enjoys coaching and sharing his experience.

Keith Allaway

Coach: Keith Allaway

  

Coach Keith brings over 20 years of experience in the strength and conditioning to the Club. He has been an active coach on the local weightlifting circuit in the Tri-State for the better part of a decade, and brings a world of Experience and Knowledge to the team. 


Keith’s calm and collected demeanor will prove invaluable as he specializes in Meet Prep, having Coached several athletes to National Championships Medals. Coach Keith will be on hand with the team to lend his wisdom to our Athletes at both Local and National Competitions.


Keith is a USAW Level 2: Advanced Performance Coach and is available for private Coaching and Programming.

Mike Wu

Coach: Mike Wu

  

A freshly minted USAW Level 2 Coach, Mike started out as a recreational lifter in his own Hoboken backyard a few years ago.

Mike has always been fascinated by the elegance and simplicity of Olympic weightlifting, and he is eager to provide guidance to kids and young lifters new to the sport.
