  • Dr. Allison Heffron is a licensed acupuncturist and third generation chiropractor.  She attended New York Chiropractic College and Finger Lakes School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.  Dr. Heffron is a nationally ranked Olympic Weightlifter who has always been passionate about improving the functional movement of athletes and general population.  Her style of acupuncture focuses on the combination of Eastern medicine as well as an orthopedic approach from her knowledge in chiropractic.  Dr. Heffron utilizes her skills in soft tissue manipulation, chiropractic adjustments, active rehabilitation, and acupuncture to form a well-rounded treatment with her patients’ goals in mind.


Techniques Used:

  • Various myofascial release techniques including active release, guasha (scraping), cupping
  • Chiropractic adjustments: diversified, manual traction, muscle energy technique, drop table
  • Acupuncture
  • Rehabilitation: Functional Range Conditioning, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, and various other techniques to achieve more stability/mobility to create a more resilient body

What to expect

  • New Patient Evaluation: 45 minute evaluation that includes history, orthopedic and neurological exam, systems review, and movement screening
  • Follow Up Visit: 45 minutes of combined acupuncture and chiropractic (soft tissue, adjustment, active rehabilitation).
  • Re-Exams: As you progress through treatment there will be a decrease in pain, however, it is important to re-assess progress through an objective lens to determine an improvement in function.
